'Language Matters' News!
Successful Diabetes is proud to be part of a UK working group looking at the way language is used with and about people with diabetes and in diabetes care.
This has in part been inspired by an important and influential publication and promotion of language matters in Australia over the last few years. You can read more about how this has developed and contribute via the SD blog here http://successfuldiabetes.blogspot.co.uk
This week's development is that 2 important articles have been published simultaneously in the US - recommendations on language and diabetes from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). At the same time, Diabetes UK's journal, Diabetic Medicine, has published an editorial, setting the scene for language and diabetes matters in the UK.
