It's World Diabetes Day, 14 November 2015!
Welcome to World Diabetes Day!
Today marks the birthday of one of the important members of the team who discovered usable insulin, Frederick Banting. It is designated by the International Diabetes Federation as World Diabetes Day, a time to celebrate all that goes into successfully living and working with diabetes and also be reminded of the strides that still need to be made
In 2008, Successful Diabetes launched on this day, so we are proud to be celebrating our own birthday today!
To celebrate, we’re launching the latest in our ‘NICE Working’ suite of resources – two sets of 'Guideline Headlines’, giving you insight into 10 key aspects of the recommendations in the recently updated NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidance for Diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2) in Children and Young People, and for Type 1 Diabetes, respectively.
You’ll find these on the ‘SD Downloads’ section of our website and we really hope you’ll find them useful!
We also invite you to take a moment to visit the World Diabetes Day website to see all that is going on today. We hope it will give you renewed inspiration and motivation for your life or work with diabetes!
